The three core members
Joe Keefe, Steve Karp, and Jesse Jones met while attending art school
in Brooklyn, NY. They recruited John Lynch on drums and in 1988 Yuppicide
was formed. They quickly recorded a nine-song demo tape and began playing
at CBGB's, Abc-No-Rio, basements, backyards, squats, living rooms-- anywhere
and everywhere that they could play. Band Website: WWW.YUPPICIDE.NET Yuppicides music had long been out of print and it was about time to get the music back to the masses. The band and Dead City have a special relationship, as Yuppicide were one of the bands to appear on the 1991 NYHC 7" compilation titled Sick But Slick on Nawpost records. Yuppicide recorded the song "Socilaization" at Don Furys for that compilation, and for those not familiar, Nawpost was the original label name of Dead City. Sick But Slick was the first release by Nawpost and it was an honor to have Yuppicide then just as much as it is now. Having reformed for a few local shows as well as a European tour in October 2010, Yuppicide hope to reconnect with fans who stayed loyal through the years and create new converts to the singular sound experience that is Yuppicide. This Yuppicide Double Discography CD features all of the music recorded from 1988-1998 during the bands heyday including rare and unreleased tracks. It features a 24-page full color booklet filled with lyrics, rare photos, flyers, and is the ultimate package for one of the best bands to rise from both the NYHC and NY Punk scenes. |

Yuppicide once sang "..nostalgia is a damaging trait..", and with that thought in mind they returned to the recording studio after a 14 year break. The result is the 6-song "American Oblivion" EP, a raw blast of everything Yuppicide is best known for: speed, intensity, drive, sincerity and a dogged determination to carving their own path through the punk/hardcore world. It's all here: the rousing sing-alongs, the anthemic lyrics, heartfelt words, wry sense of humor, searing melodies, bone-crunching stomp parts and eye-popping artwork. Fans have been eagerly awaiting new songs since the "88-98 Anthology" release, and on "American Oblivion" the band delivers in spades, leaving no punkrock fan disappointed. The band proves that you can take 4 guys out of hardcore punk for 14 years, but you can't take a lifetime of hardcore punk out of them.

Revenge Regret Repeat is Yuppicide's first full-length since 1995's 'Deadman Walking'. This album is a logical extension and progression of 2012's "American Oblivion" EP and finds the band firing on all cylinders, musically and lyrically raging at the world around them, pulling no punches. Recorded by NYHC fixture Glen Lorieo, the album features 11 furious blasts of hardcore punk rock played in their own distinctive style. Trends come and go but the band once again sticks to their musical roots of "loud, hard, fast"; their words are biting, intelligent and humorous.
